The Definition of Beauty

The definition of beauty is taken from both individual and social perspectives. Some people define beauty as characteristics related to outer beauty such as complexion, health, youthful appearance and facial symmetry. Beauty however is a mixture of both inner and outer aspects of beauty. Characteristics of a person, such as their personality, their politeness, their integrity, their elegance, their charisma, their intelligence and their grace can be considered as aspects of inner beauty. These aspects define what inner beauty is, and are factors that can be felt and sensed when the person is around, and not just perceived by the eyes alone.
Culture also dictates the standards of beauty and is constantly changing. The concept of beauty has changed from curvaceous women in the past to the skinny ones of today. Regardless of this, it is still up to the individual person to define and judge what is beautiful. The adage "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" rings true in that what is beautiful for you is not necessarily beautiful for another, it is akin to the saying "one man's drink is another man's poison".
The inner attributes of a person must be of high quality for the person to be considered truly beautiful. The person's ability to warm anothers heart, place a smile on someone's face definitely shows the characteristics of one who has inner beauty. The criteria therefore to judge a person's inner beauty is his or her level of sensitivity, compassion, tenderness, intelligence and creativity. These qualities of inner beauty are indeed powerful for they can exceed the person's outer features.
Nonetheless, how to achieve beauty in both inner and outer beauty is very important to a person. Therefore even though one is kind, true and loyal, it is still important to know how one looks physically. It is not just how pretty you dress up to be beautiful, but you also need to have a healthy lifestyle since sickness can affect you sooner or later. One should also prepare one's overall appearance before socializing in the world, for people that we have never met will always judge us on a first impression on our physical appearance.
In summary, put on your best smile and comb your hair and iron your clothes. Wear something dignified that makes you feel comfortable at the same time. You have to love yourself for who you are before anyone else can love you. You must be attracted to yourself before you can attract attraction. Knowing this you must also accessorize your new beauty with kindness, and tenderness, integrity and compassion.

Hawaiian Beauty Secrets

Tropical scents, coconut textures, luscious fruits, bright flowers and exotic fragrances embody the essence of Hawaii. Hawaiian plants, foods, flowers, oils and enzymes can help you to naturally maintain and enhance your inner and outer beauty. Whisk yourself away from ordinary with these 10 Hawaiian beauty ingredients:
1. Tamanu Oil
Tamanu oil is cold-pressed from tamanu tree kernels for both hair and skin products, or it can be used in its pure form. It has a rich, spicy scent and is known to help skin issues like acne, scarring, dry skin, scaly skin, wrinkles, age spots, stretch marks, eczema, and even body and foot odor. It absorbs into the skin quickly and rejuvenates with healing antioxidant properties.
2. Noni
The noni tree is in the coffee family, and its juice and pulp is touted for multiple health and medicinal benefits. It can stimulate the immune system with its antibacterial, antiseptic, astringent and analgesic properties. It also helps acne and combats dry, itchy scalps. Noni is beneficial for skin and hair -- apply directly to these areas.
3. Kukui Nut Oil
Kukui is Hawaii's state tree and is fortified with essential fatty acids, antioxidants and Vitamins A, C and E. The thick oil of the kukui nut is a rich, moisturizing emollient, an effective treatment for acne, dry skin, scars, psoriasis, eczema, dry hair and itchy scalp.
4. Kona Coffee
Kona Coffee is the only U.S. coffee grown in the rich volcanic soil of the Big Island and other sites around Hawaii. The caffeine in Kona coffee neutralizes free radicals and improves skin's texture. It can also help to reduce puffiness and swelling while protecting the skin from harsh environmental conditions.
5. Tropical Fruit Enzymes
Pineapples, bananas, passionfruit, mangoes, papayas and guava are tropical fruits that are often used as face and body masks when made into a pulp. Pineapples contain bromelain, an enzyme that helps break down dry, dead skin cells for smoother, softer skin. Bananas soften, heal and nourish skin, and mangoes are a great moisturizer. Volcanic ash clay makes an excellent mud detoxifying treatment for skin as it exfoliates, refines texture and minimizes pores. Sulfur in volcanic ash also gives it anti-bacterial qualities.

Beauty Makeup Tips

There is nothing worse than a woman with lots of makeup on. It can make you look old and draggish. I don't wear makeup in public but I do put it on when taking photographs or making videos of myself and sometimes I can look like those drag queens on TV. Here's a tip for women I would like to share. Less is definitely more. Makeup should enhance your natural beauty not cover it. People want to see your face and not an over exaggerated version of yourself. Keep the queen in the pictures but in public show your true face. Men actually like a fresh face or the real you.
There are the essential must have items of makeup every woman should own. All women should have a good long-lasting mascara to lengthen the lashes and make them stand out. Those false lashes are a waste of time and money. Often I see them ready to fall off the woman's eyelash struggling to hang on for dear life; simple mascara will do the trick. You can use clear mascara alone or apply first underneath black mascara.
I'm an advocate for lip gloss or a neutral lipstick but you should save the lipstick for date night. For everyday wear I would suggest lip gloss instead or try a good brand of Chap Stick to keep the lips looking soft and moisturized. Eyeliner is another must have makeup item. You can go for black for a dark dramatic look or a subtle use of brown. I would stay away from the bright colors for everyday wear. The idea is to keep your face looking as close to natural as possible.
Don't bother with foundation and eye shadow unless you plan on going on a date. If you have oily skin, you can use a powder brush and sweep loose powder over your face to keep your skin from glistening. You should avoid face makeup if you are a sweater.
Another tip to apply to your makeup look is well-groomed eyebrows. Those little brush/combs are perfect for keeping your eyebrows uniform. Comb the brows up and then brush them in the same direction to keep your brows looking nice and neat not bushy and unkempt. It is important to clean your skin daily if you wear makeup and moisturize. I like Carols Daughter body jelly to soften my skin. Following these tips will keep you looking young, natural looking and approachable.

Toddlers in Tiaras - The Benefits of Child Beauty Pageants

Just saying the words Beauty Queen causes you to think of gleaming smiles, evening gowns and diamond tiaras. Following the success of films such as Drop Dead Gorgeous and Miss Congeniality, beauty pageants are growing all the more popular in western culture. There was a time when pageants were specifically for girls and women over the age of 18, now however there are child beauty pageants which are open to girls under 12.
Initially the thought of girls in child beauty pageants are a bit shocking however, if you think about how naturally little girls go into their mother's wardrobe and try on jewellery and shoes, pageants are just an extension of childhood fantasies of being a princess. Provided that the outfits that the child wears in the pageant are tasteful, then there is little reason to object to them.
The different rounds in a beauty pageant can allow the child to develop skills that they may require later in life. For instance, the interview round can teach the participant about enunciation, voicing their opinions and general public speaking skills. In addition to this, they will learn how to be themselves and feel comfortable talking to larger groups of people, which can be crucial in school situations when presentations may need to be given in class.
The talent portion of a beauty pageant allows the child to develop their own talents and having to perform it in front of others will help them to overcome shyness. One of the main reasons that parents enter their children in child beauty pageants is to help boost their self esteem. Although not every child can win the overall competition, each child will be given a prize for taking part. In addition to this, these pageants encourage the child to be more comfortable in their own skin.
Many parents who have had children with birth defects will enter them into these pageants in order to teach them that they are not different to other children and can take part in the things that other children take part in. This works both ways, as the children in the competition learn not to judge others if they are disabled and become more accepting; this is something that a lot of children do not have the ability to do if they rarely interact with a disabled person.
Beauty pageants give children the opportunity to be made to feel like a princess for a day, there is the potential that some may feel it encourages children to grow up too quickly, but if the children have well grounded parents then there is little reason to think this. I know from experience that young girls spend hours just day dreaming about wearing diamond tiaras, high heels and makeup.
